Dr. Ali Timucin Atayoglu is currently the president of ” International Federation of Apitherapy”. He is consultant medical doctor and a lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine in Istanbul Medipol University, Turkey. He is also the head of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Department in the University and also the chairman of the” Holistic & Integrative Medicine Association” in Turkey. He has been interested in holistic health approach since he was a student in the medical school. After his elective studies in London, UK he returned to Istanbul and continued his studies in Integrative Medicine. In 2007-2008 he studied with Prof. Fang Zhu in China who is one of the world’s foremost experts on Apitherapy and then he has established the first Apitherapy Center affiliated from US to Japan, from Romania to South Africa and tried to increase his knowledge & experience. He has focused his evidence based health care efforts on education, clinical care, and research- within the principles of integrative medicine. He is the vice president of Apitherapy Commission of the Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Societies in China, and a member of the Director Committee of the Apiceutical Research Center in the UK. He is member of the Scientific Commitee for the Traditional & Complementary Medical Practices in the Turkish Health ministry. His work focused on integration of preventive medicine in the primary health care with a holistic approach.
